POSITION SUMMARY:

The Job Readiness Internship Specialist is responsible for enrolling participants into successful internship opportunities. The position will screen participants and work with the Internship Coordinator as well as Business Solutions to ensure client is meeting the expectations of the internship. This position will provide opportunities for training and development on the internship site. Develops orientation and evaluates performance on participants to meet objectives and become job ready. Additional responsibilities will include working cross departmentally to further the mission of Goodwill Central Texas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Screen and enroll participants into internships and maintain open lines of communication with clients to ensure successful completion of internship.

  2. Provide weekly-site visits and supervision to participants unless more is needed to provide opportunities for on-site job readiness training with participants.

  3. Provide one-on-one job readiness training for participants.

  4. Analyze and assess performance in job readiness participant behavior.

  5. Participate in available staff development courses designed to enhance professional and leadership skills.

  6. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with all stakeholders in regards to internship requirements.

  7. Maintain accurate and complete records for enrollment into internships and completion of the program as required by administrative regulations and policy. Accurately enter services into ECM & Ultipro.

  8. Demonstrate ethics and comply with the Corporate Compliance Program.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Work cross-departmentally to further the mission of Goodwill Central Texas.

  2. Attend staff and other organization meetings as required by Workforce Advancement.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. BA or BS degree in education business or a social service related field. Minimum of 1 year experience with socially disadvantaged adult individuals (e.g. Homeless Ex-offenders and Low Literacy etc.)

  2. Experience in working one on one with individuals to address job behaviors.

  3. Proficient in oral and written communication skills including interviewing skills.

  4. Knowledge of Goodwill services and of community resources and business networking.

  5. Extensive experience with Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook) and other Social Media applications.

  6. Texas Driver’s License liability insurance vehicle in good working condition clean driving record.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bilingual.

  2. Experience with Adult Learners.
