Olin Chlor Alkali Products & Vinyls, a division of Olin Corporation, has an opening for an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician Intern for Summer 2018, in Freeport, TX.

Winchester's principal manufacturing facilities produce and distribute sporting ammunition, law enforcement ammunition, reloading components, small caliber military ammunition and components and industrial cartridges.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work 15-20 hours a week during normal business hours

  • Students must be currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering, program at an accredited College or University. Qualified candidates must have already completed 48 hours of full time coursework.

  • Must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (documentation required). Cumulative GPA on current institution transcript will be used in transfer college situations

  • Coursework in electrical power systems design, control systems, electronics

  • Ability to take independent initiative, exhibiting creative problem-solving, eagerness to learn, while working in a team environment

  • Open to conducting in-office and field work

  • Competent with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Must be able to understand and prioritize initiatives; be flexible and adaptable

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, verbally and in writing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EIT/FE certification

  • Past history of technical presentations and technical writing, knowledge sharing with peers

  • Experience with electrical drawings and schematics

  • Experience with P&ID’s

*Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education
